Today I dropped by the 2020 Sudbury Pond Hockey Festival on the Rock which took place on the frozen waters of Ramsey Lake off the shores of the Northern Water Sports Centre near Science North. It was a perfect day for pond hockey and for all the other activities the festival organizers had running.Below are a few of the photos I took during my brief visit, including some cool shots taken with my 360 camera. Earlier this evening I was Sudbury's Carmichael arena for a hockey team photo shoot with the young guns of the Sudbury Ice Wolves Novice Tier 2 boys team. The Ice Wolves were the beneficiaries of a contest I ran earlier in the month, which was won by one the parents, Melissa T. See below for the contest ad video, draw video and some sample photos. This weekend I took my 360 camera out into the community to have a little fun with it at a couple of Sudbury's landmarks. I hit up the Big Nickel at Dynamic Earth and the Vale Superstack in Copper Cliff.The 360° field of view in these cameras allow it to capture an entire scene in ALL directions. Later, once these spherical panorama images are transferred to a computer or smartphone, they can be manipulated in some pretty creative ways. The result of this tweaking produces these common vie.....
