Outside it was a cold but clear morning here in Sudbury, Ontario, Canada. But inside, while I was scrolling through social media I was comfortably warm in my bed. It was 5:30am. Then I saw this post from CTV News that reminded me that today was the day!
I quickly opened The Weather Network app to see if we had clear skies. We did! Then I opened the PhotoPills app to see where the moon was relative to my location here in Northern Ontario. It should be still be visible in the western sky. I sprung from the bed and looked out the front bedroom window... and there it was, in all its bloody orange glory.
So I scramble to put on some warm clothes and grabbed my camera gear and my super-telephoto lens and tripod and headed out to the driveway. I had a perfect view.
This photo and the brief timelapse video below are the fruits of my early morning labour. Enjoy!
