After winning a DJI Mavic Mini drone back in May of this year in a local contest, and spending countless hours getting familiar with it, I decided to pursue a drone pilot license. Over the past few weeks I spent several hours studying the required content and early this morning I decided to write the Transport Canada exam.
I am proud to announce that, as this blog post suggests, I am now a certified RPAS (Remotely Piloted Aircraft System) aka drone pilot for basic operations.
It's a huge first step for me as I make plans to market my aerial photography and aerial videography services to the Greater Sudbury area. Stay tuned for more information on this in future blog posts.
(As a side note, the desire to be a pilot is actually in my blood as my late grandfather was a bushplane pilot back in the 1950s. His aircraft of choice was a Seabee.)
